Civil discourse is at its lowest ebb in generations. The Culture Wars seem to be getting to the point of the Nuclear Option... It's ugly out there!
What is the source of the division in America? Who is at the heart of this? Who is tearing our society apart?
Don't expect me to blame everyone and ask us all to kiss and hug and sing kumbaya... I have thought about this for some time and I've tried my best to be fair, but that's not gotten anywhere. The debates are still ugly.
After thinking and watching the sides in the Culture Wars I've concluded that the dividers today are the same people who were at the heart of the conflict of the 1960s.
Why do I blame the 60s radicals? Because they are destroyers, arrogant, prideful, selfish, power hungry and have an abiding faith in their own self-righteousness.
During the 'Consciousness Revolution' of the 60s and 70s, most of the Baby Boomers, who were coming into adulthood, went through a profound change. They saw what could be done to overthrow the old, soulless builders of society as it was then.
Our grandfathers and fathers had built up our nation from brick and steel. Our generation wanted to rebuild with lifestyles and societies.
I was part of the group that found God. My social revolution took me into the path of serving God. Many others who followed God are still doing so, quietly living good lives and raising kids. Many of us are just as passionate about our beliefs as the leaders on the Left, but we tend to be more polite... it's a Christian thing.
The ones I'm blaming found political power and liked it. They moved into politics, journalism and education. They were discipled by the students of Wilson and FDR. But they discovered a great thrill by being part of the real revolution. So they moved on to more practical revolutionaries: Mao, Che and Castro. Marx and Lenin.
These people now hold the far left side of the debate. But they play by harsh rules. They do not allow others to bring their ideas into play. They believe their ideas are superior and they are convinced of their moral superiority... however they lack a moral base. Therefore they can, and do, use every tactic that comes to hand to win power.
But this is not a game... this is our nation and our freedom. We are getting to the point where those of us who don't use amoral tactics will rise up in righteous indignation and take our nation back.
The outcome will soon be decided. Either the left will quash all opposition and become the oppressors... or out of the spiritual part of the cultural revolution will come a new society that will take away their power.
People will begin to vote independent of the two parties. They will more and more get their news from alternate media... and they old bastions of liberalism will wither and die as the next generation of kids gets sent to alternate schools.
This is how the culture wars will end.

Jubilee in America
Jubilee
Chiefly Biblical. a yearlong period to be observed by Jews once every 50 years, during which Jewish slaves were to be freed, alienated lands were to be restored to the original owner or an heir, the fields were to be left untilled, and all agricultural labors were to be suspended. Lev. 25.
I've been thinking that we need to have a Jubilee in America... a time of returning to our roots and freeing the slaves, restoring our nation to its true heirs... those who love America for what it is... a place of freedom and liberty.
